Staying Cool

Here's a quick peek of what's been going on over at The Sunshine Club at the Alton, New Hampshire Senior Center. Mary continues to make progress on her hand quilting project of scrappy double four patches.

Meb had some nice potholders to sew plastic rings onto for hanging and they look great!

Sue decided that it would be faster to just tie her quilt and got it all done in one week. Now she's working on the binding in a solid brown cotton.

As for me, I stabbed along for a few needles' worth of hand hemming the binding on my little red string quilt.

Then, on Friday, at the Golden Gese Quilt Shop in Concord, New Hampshire, Maureen had another beautifully embroidered Navy seal on a mini flag wall hanging. So cute!

Sue was working on some hourglass blocks in a Christmas fabric that is from Australia, so it has zero snow included.

Here's what the block looks like opened up. Nice work, Sue!

I did some pressing of my log cabin medallions.

Then I was able to sew the cream print inner borders onto the top and remembered to ask Maureen to help me measure the top. Right now it is about 64" square.

 That's a little small, so I'm planning some scrappy piano key borders for it.
