No, that's not an insulting comment upon some hapless human as I speak of the Big Mouth, but rather a celebration of Matthew's harvest of a Large Mouth Bass from the nearby Crystal Lake.
Although we forgot to measure it and weigh it before my Husband Wonderful, Felix, cleaned, filleted, and froze it, you must agree that it is a beautiful fish!
Last week I did do a block for the Barbara Brackman sew along on her blog, but I think that I quite forgot to post it here.
This was the Woodblock Print fabric. My choice of fabric was already cut into 2½" strips when I bought it from Ebay, so I just sewed up an internal seam to make it my center of the block. I can hardly see the seam, so I'm very pleased with it!
About that Ebay purchase, ahem! It was a $12.95 flat rate medium sized USPS box filled with strips that are all 2½" and mostly Civil War. I am thrilled with it!!
Those that are curled on top are the brights and 1930's, and a handful of Holiday to the left, but ALL the rest are Civil War, yippeee!!!
I did a couple of pinwheel blocks and was pleased with those also.
Today at The Sunshine Club, I was thrilled to see our former member, Pauline rejoin us for the summer!! She brought her Fourth Of July quilt top that she's making for her grandson, saying that it'll be early for next year, LOL! Looking good, Pauline!
Pauline had a UFO (Un Finished Object) that she had brought with her from Tennessee. It is a 3-Dimensional Pinwheel quilt that's going to be lovely.

Marjorie worked steadily on her pink Yo-Yos, while Sue quilted a few more rows on her green strippy quilt that I call her Leprechaun Quilt.
Instead of bringing in my Featherweight from the one car that's running, I opted to sew some of the hand hemming on the binding of my Shenandoah Valley Quilt by Nancy Gere for Windham. It's a twin and I'm about halfway around on it. Here I am holding it up for viewing.
In June, I had invested in a full 40 yard roll of 90" wide Warm & Natural, but today was the first day that I had actually dragged it out of my overflowing garage to harvest 3 yards of it. Whew, it was heavy!!!
I hope that you are getting to do some quilty stuff and have some fun as you do it. I'm having a ball!!!

The seam on that woodblock print isn't noticeable at all. Don't think I would have seen it if you hadn't mentioned it.
Fun pinwheels--always make such happy looking blocks. : )
Sewing the binding down is always a thrilling place to be. It means a finish is just around the corner!
Where do you get such a large roll of batting? I've been looking for one for our church group. Do you order on the internet? Thanks!
