Fall Friendships

Over at the Friday Quilters at The Golden Gese Quilt Shop on 22 Liberty Street in Concord, New Hampshire, we celebrated all the October Birthdays and the farewells to some snowbirds bound for Florida!

The chocolate cupcakes had donned an obscenely pink frosting that begged for us to be teasing each other!

Claire, below, was busy, not only snapping pictures, but also working on her cute small quilt of spools.

Barbara, from Maine, was placing the pieces of her applique bunny rabbit.

Later, Barbara had it all together and ready for stitching. It is so cute!

Jan, below, was adding binding onto her black, white, and red quilt with a car dealership theme for a friend.

The backing is all fancy-dancy hubcaps and wheel-rims, LOL!

Can you make out the gears that the longarmer quilted into it? So clever!

Marianne, below, had a wee hearts quilt going and was affixing each one with Wonder-under fusing.

It was an Edyta Sitar kit, I think, from Heart's Content. Everybody loved it!

Good job Marianne!

Sue, below, who is flying back to her Florida home for the winter, was working on her borders.

The top looks awesome!

I was proud to use my new Birthday present from Maureen. It is a scrap and thread catcher, and oh, so handy. Thank you, Maureen!

I made her sign the inner connection pieces and date it, too. It is a work of art and so well-made!

Thank you also to Sue, for the "No Math Quilt Charts" pocket-sized book and the blank journal, and to Beverly, for two quarts of no-sugar added applesauce! Yahoo!!

Best of all, is the gift of such dear friends to sew and pal around with at the Gese!

As for me, I was able to complete the inner light scrappy borders on my Scrappy Jacob's Ladder #3.

Let me also mention that my dear friend Frances, who is a spry 99, went with me to the Belmont Senior Center this past week.

We enjoyed a coffee together while signing both of us up for lunch next week.

Our sincere "Thank you's" to volunteers Betty and Bill who welcomed us and even took our picture for us.

The air in New Hampshire has turned brisk at last and Frances modeled her new winter parka and sparkly scarf.

We took in some lovely foliage at a local cemetery at the historic Smith Meeting House.

Over beyond the fence is a fabulous row of blooming hydrangeas and I clipped a few for her to take home.

The colors were wonderful!

When I got home, Miss Emma Lynne wanted to play outside, too!

Miss Tanner, the cat, gave Miss Emma a brief chest rub and then hurried off to become more nonchalant and cat-like. They are such good friends!

Do what makes you happy and treasure your friends!

You obviously follow your own advice. You always seem to be doing things that make you happy and you know how to treasure friendships. This post exudes happiness with friends. Wish I had been on that Autumn adventure with you and Francis. Love her new winter attire.
Lovely foliage, lovely flowers. : )
