Happy National Quilting Day!

Today I celebrated National Quilting Day by visiting the "Mothership", also known as Keepsake Quilting's retail store.

Yippee! There was bright blue weather on the way to Center Harbor, New Hampshire where Keepsake is headquartered.

There are aisles of colors to roam!

There are thousands of all quilt-shop-quality bolts of quilting cottons.

Yummy neutrals that called my name!

The store was actually fairly teeming with happy shoppers who were looking forward to the 20% off sale prices just for today.

I had a ball and here's what I picked out for myself.

The rolls are all a pre-cut of one yard, tied with a raffia ribbon, and I looked for choices that seemed to be Civil War era reproductions.
There were 10 FQ's that came home with me and they all look so great together!

The Moda "Mille Coloures" by Three Sisters jumped into my basket.

I couldn't help it. It HAD to come home with me. It's the mottled tan with the red floral toss in the above photo.

There were a couple of the richly saturated colors of Kansas Troubles selections in the group, too.

Equally important to celebrate is the most recent weather forecast that says that the big Nor'easter 12 inch snowstorm is pulling away to go out to sea and it will miss us! Yeay!! Welcome Spring!

And on Friday, I was able to get some borders measured and pinned onto my little lap quilt. This quilt's center was done with all fabrics from the "Collections For A Cause; Community" line by Howard Marcus for Moda.

For the outer border, I chose a Marcus Brothers Judie Rothermel stripe taken from The New England Quilt Museum.

Now to get those borders stitched up!

Happy quilting!

Glad the snow headed out to sea!

It is really always very annoying when fabrics are just jumping in the basket! :)
Your fabric choice is lovely as always.
I have never seen a shop with such a choice of neutrals!
And I loooove the fabric you chose for the border of your quilt! Perfect!
Best wishes!
