A Milestone

Today is my 70th birthday and that is quite a milestone! I'm enjoying good health and fitness in spite of missing my dear Felix. I was sixteen when I met him and instantly fell in love with him.

The weather is a grim rain with high winds today and I'm lucky to have power to write this. Earlier this week I took some pictures of the pretty Fall foliage that has now been taken away by the storm.

These were taken right along Route 140, which is my street, but about 5 miles away in Alton, NH. The water is Lake Wentworth by the Alton fire station.

No pictures of it yet, but I've started a couple of sawtooth star potholders for Ilse to send to her sister in law in Germany for Christmas.

Happy quilting!

Happy Birthday, Vic! That is definitely a milestone. I hope you are able to make fun plans, in spite of not having Felix to celebrate with you. He would want you to make the most of this special day, don't you think?
Lovely shots of the fall colors. I love fall in NH, and it is especially gorgeous around the many lakes.
I look forward to seeing the potholders you are creating for Ilse to send to her sister.

I'm wishing you a Happy, Happy Birthday, Vic, despite having to celebrate it without Felix.
Your fall foliage was beautiful. I'll enjoy your photos because we are sorely lacking bright colors (other than green) here in central Ohio.

Here's hoping that your birthday is a special one today, Vic; it's always great to see you posting here. Since my Mom and Dad live in nearby Gilford seeing your foliage snapshots reminds me of what they're currently enjoying too. Such pretty color! I Wish you happiness and health on this milestone birthday, sending big hugs to you!

Happy Birthday!!! I'm older than you...I turned 70 on January 4th earlier this year. I wish you a wonderful day and like the Brits say..."Stay Calm and Carry On". I lost my son and my 2 canine companions of 14 years this past summer and it's amazing how you keep going but you do. I think it is harder to recover though as you age....wounds do not heal as fast. Rejoice in the happy memories and the fact that you have survived this long! Remember....it's a great life if you don't weaken.

Happy, happy Birthday to you! Yes, 70s are pretty great, so far. The lake looks like Walden Pond - a friend just sent photos of her visit - yes, they look the same. Wish I was near you and I'd bake you a cake! ( that is, if I remember how ...) So glad to read/see your post!

Happy Birthday--I'm a few years behind you and catching up fast! Due to the extreme heat and lack of water the only fall color the south will be seeing is brown.

Happy birthday eleven days late! I couldn't keep up with blog posts while we were traveling. The past year has been a life-changer for you, Vic -- may the year to come be filled with blessings and new adventures!
