Saying Goodbye

The last Friday in September was the beautiful Masonic Funeral held for Felix, my beloved husband, who passed away on July 17th, 2019 of a sudden heart attack.

It was a lovely service with prayers and poems with Felix's ashes, his picture, and his DeMolay Chevalier ring sitting on the table inside the Masonic Lodge.

The most moving part of the ceremony was when, one by one, each Mason present went up to the table and gave Felix a Masonic salute and laid an evergreen sprig of Arbor Vitae upon his Masonic apron.

Was so surprised to see my younger sister, Lucinda, who took a bus up from Connecticut to attend the service. It was wonderful to be able to give her a hug. My older sister, Suzanne, is more local here in New Hampshire and she brought her beloved husband, William.

This is a picture of Suzanne, on the left, me in the middle, and Lucinda on the right. The weather was mild and sunny, just perfect as we wished Felix well in heaven.

Thank you for listening and happy quilting!

Family and friends are so important as we grieve for loved ones. You will always miss Felix but the pain should ease as time goes by. Blessings!

That sounds like a beautiful farewell, fit for the king he was. He was so well loved and is equally missed. His spirit and his love will always be with you.

Fantastic pic of you and your sisters, I hope all three of you are able to see ea other more often in the future.

Love and hugs to you my dear friend,
~Dian
