Uh oh! Felix and I both forgot to say, "RABBIT!" as our first word spoken on the morning of the first day of the month. Alas, we are now doomed to less than perfect luck for the rest of the month, or so goes the superstition in my family. But I feel very lucky indeed to be inside enjoying the cool air from my two AC window units at either end of the house! Wheeeee! And a cool cellar Quilt Cave to boot!
I just could not hold back my desire to start something new today. So here I go! I'm cutting up some 5" charms with that wonderful 5" acrylic template that I bought from MSQC.
I've never done tumblers before, but I think that you're supposed to offset the seams just a tiny bit and that's what I've been doing.
I'm making the row 17 units sewn long and I know that it will be trimmed off the sides, too. My birthday is October 17th, so I figured that 17 must be a lucky number for me. Maybe this will compensate for forgetting to say, "RABBIT," right? LOL!

Is the "rabbit" superstition unique to your family? I've never heard it before.
You are doing it right to offset the tumblers a bit. Looks like more scrappy goodness being created!

Hi Vic, I've never heard of the "rabbit" superstition. Tho I do see rabbits in my yard all the time! You're so knowledgeable.....Your tumblers are beautiful.
very nice indeed, and i do like that little tumbler but the bigger one is quicker! mine is going to be sofa size, will fit the 60" square batt i bought for it...oooh, those repros are gorgeous girl...
Have fun with the new project, and BTW, congrats on the 3 quilts for the triplets!
Good luck with the early heat - we've just finished the NEW HVAC system to counteract that awful heat of last summer - I won't have THAT to complain about - will have to have another excuse to gripe! 8-)))
