Scrappalicious!

On Thursday, I met up with fellow stashbuster, Lyn from New Hampshire, at a halfway driving point for both of us so that she could donate this big box of her Civil War scraps to me. She is downsizing and Spring cleaning and decided to fling half to me, and half to Grace from Maine. Wheeeeee!!!! Thank you so very much, Lyn!!!

Then, yesterday, at Friday Quilters with Claire, Maureen gave me a bunch of her vintage scraps, too! Thanks so very much, Maureen!! Notice that my Hersey's Milk Chocolate Nuggets dispenser is sitting out on the table? Well, Maureen also brought some Lindt Truffles, too, yummy!

The Friday Quilters group meets at The Golden Gese quilt shop on 22 Liberty Street in Concord, New Hampshire, and everybody was happy to welcome Sue back from Florida! Here she is at her "souper" lunch break from her English Paper Piecing project.

Claire had bought a delightful lemon cake and some vanilla ice cream for all of us to celebrate Sue's return. The cake and ice cream was delicious and we sang a few bars of "For she's a jolly good fellow."

Here's a quick run-down on what folks were working on. Marianne was cutting Dresden wedges and is getting a nice boxful of them together.

Heidi had a beautiful summery pinwheels top going together with its lavender sashing, so pretty!

Eleanor was working on a dramatic blue and white block, but I forgot to ask her what the name of it is. Looking great, Elle!

Maureen was doing a scrappy brights block that is like a miniature crazy quilt in each block.

I think that it was a jelly roll option from one of the Missouri Star Quilt Company patterns.

When Beverly had seen my piano keys border she decided that she liked it so much that she would put piano keys borders onto her brights log cabin variation.

Beverly had gotten a lot done on it already at home and we all admired how it is coming out for her!

Our mascot, "Yoda" was very well-behaved and a perfect gentleman when his Puppy Mom, Beverly, took him outdoors for his constitutional.

Yoda loves people but he wiggles so much that its hard to take his picture, LOL! Here's the best one I got of him.

As for me, I have two Scrappy Jacob's Ladders going at once, one in brights, and one in traditional fabrics.

On Thursday night at home, I finished up the last of the 36 blocks that I needed for the traditional one, and I love the big table spaces at The Golden Gese for the layout of the blocks.

If this were log cabin blocks, this diamond-looking layout above would be called "Sunshine & Shadows." As a Scrappy Jacob's Ladder, I have no idea if it has its own name for this layout. Please let me know if you've heard of it called something else, I'd love to know.

I worked steadily on sewing the 36 blocks into rows and got my 6 rows put together before it was time to quit for the day.

Happy sewing!

Lucky you to get all those wonderful CW fabrics! Wouldn't it be nice if we all had CW fairy godmothers?
I love your Jacob's ladders!
