Hugs & Kisses

Before an early storm put a coating of snow onto my wonderful driveway space, I did get my "Hugs & Kisses quilt back from Linda Monasky, my longarmer. She doesn't usually trim off the excess batting and backing for me so I like to spread the quilted top right out on the clean pavement and smooth it to trim it.
The asphalt is very hard on my old knees. You can see I use my little baby pillow as a pad. I made it years ago with some poly fiberfill in a muslin bag and then tied it to keep it from shifting. Works great and it has been washed a zillion times.
This little "Hugs & Kisses quilt is 60" square and has a blue damask cotton backing.
Linda, once again, did a superb job of quilting, adding a sweet little row of hearts all around the cream scrappy border and a close loop-de-loop on the brown and caramel stars border.
Don't forget you can click on the photo to enlarge it. I had enough of the fabric of the teal inner border to do that as the binding too.
I'm very pleased with the way it is coming out and plan on offering it for sale for $175.00.

pretty quilt vic. good luck on the sale. and yes, it is finally cool inside our apt as well as out. it always depends on the wind direction. in summer we hardly ever get east wind which blow right through the apt but this week actually had to close windows for a change and put away the little fan.

I love the colors you used with it. Very nice, but your poor knees!!! I can almost feel the gravel grinding in the knees just looking at the picture.

I love the teal and brown together. But I, too, feel for your knees. I am spoiled that I have a big design wall now and a big floor space to lay out my quilts. If I had to kneel on concrete I might not finish anything. I'm impressed that you forge ahead in spite of the discomfort. : )
