Step Four Units

Although I am not as speedy as some of my friends working on Bonnie K. Hunter's "Easy Street," Step 4, I'm making progress. The link is here, if you want to see it.
What worries me is that Bonnie's aqua blue is my indigo and her deep purple is my brown and cheddar. Mine has very little contrast and maybe will be too dark.
But then, that is what makes a mystery quilt fun, the not knowing every detail! Today I hope to finish up the flying geese units and get them sewn onto their lighter counterparts.
I also got the last two rows joined up of that Sister's Choice Part II, but I haven't pressed the back yet. I like to do that with my pressing solution that is scented this time with Attar of Roses, AHHHHHH, I love that!
I'm going to mail off these matching pillowcases to my kid sister (she's 52) in Connecticut. I have "quilter's guilt" in that I'm using up old dated cranston VIP prints for Christmas presents. Since she is not a quilter, I'm counting on her loving them anyway!

I'm sure your sister will love the pillowcases ... and won't have a clue about the vintage nature of the fabrics!! Happy Holiday Season :)

Not to worry about Clue 4, Vic. I think your colors contrast just a little more than Bonnie's. And I think your colors are lovely together.

There's plenty of contrast there, IMHO, Vic.
Oh, I loved those VIP print. I think I have used mine up, but it hasn't been too long ago that I did.

I remember that Cranston print....not only did I have some because I bought it, but I have also received it in swaps and maybe at a couple of estate/garage sales. Your Easy Street will turn out just fine -- never fear!

Your colors are wonderful and will work well. It's going to look Civil War. I am leaning that way too. When I go to grab the fabrics from the shelf, other fabrics scream, "use me" instead. LOL! I hate that! LOL!

And those pillow cases are beautiful! I am a quilter and I would love to have them. I still have some Cranston fabrics too. They don't make it like that anymore. That was some good fabric.

Hey Vic, I'm sure I had some of that main pillow case fabric. Heck, if your sister even notices tell her it's vintage. It will be one of these days? years? I like your Easy Street fabric. And, you are a head of me. You go gal!

I recognise that browny floral from way back when LOL. The units are looking great. I'm sure the whole quilt will be lovely. It's interesting to see how different colour choices work - and they all do in the end.
