Trip To Monadnock Quilt Show

With all my car woes, I was delighted to accept my sister, Suzanne's invitation to do all the driving as we went on our splendid journey to Peterboro, New Hampshire for the Monadnock Quilt Show.

This show is held every other year, so I was loathe to miss out on it over car troubles.

The quilts were all magnificent, and this is just a small sampling of the treats on display.

Again, I apologize for not giving individual credits on the blog, but it is unworkable for me to try to capture and match each legend.

There was a splash of these  twinkler or maverick stars that I believe had been either a guild challenge or a retreat project.

It was an eye-opening experience to see several different colorways of one pattern sprinkled throughout the show.

They displayed one whole great room of the school to house the guild's featured quilter, Gail Wilson.

Gail certainly is a prolific quilter! She's a charming gal who posed here with two of my favorites.

Her quilts are gorgeous.

And varied in their styles.

She's done Romantic, Civil War, Modern, Traditional, Red & White, Apparel & Bags, and more that I'm unable to name, LOL!

Gail is not afraid to work on a big scale, making lots of big quilts.

Aren't they superb?

Loved this use of cheddar!

She's tackled big stitch, hand-quilting, Free motion and longarming on her midarm Handi Quilter 16.

There was a second Red & White by Gail, too.

This one below was of a print that was Lettuce leaves, what fun!

This was blues with a golden orange and it is striking.

There are a few here that I'm not sure were entirely hers, or maybe I mixed them up, but wanted you to see them.

I didn't win the raffle but of all the possible prizes, this would've been my first choice!

There were so many pretty props at the show, too.

I would like to show you more tomorrow, too.

Happy Sewing!
