Hallelujah! After being missing for 3 days, this morning early on, ALL THREE of the missing kittens showed up unharmed!
I cried tears of joy to see them because I had given up on them completely. Now I'm just thrilled that they are home and safe.
Spooky was really happy, too!
She was nursing them and licking them and modeling the behavior of eating solid food for them.
The kittens all carefully watched her eat. Then, one by one, they would try it.
There is a real knack to chewing and swallowing, you know!
I use these family sessions to keep talking to my cats to let them become familiar with my voice and habits as I photograph them. They seem quite unafraid of the flash now. It used to startle them. But they still have no love nor tolerance for Raven, my elderly Lady lab mix.
Yesterday, Raven had a trip to the vet for routine shots. What with Tipper being the only cat on the premises at that time, I scooped him into a catcarrier and took him off to the vet to share Raven's appointment.
My vet, Steve Barsanti, laughed and pronounced Tipper to be way too little for any shots. He did look in Tipper's ears and said that they were both very clean and had no mites. He sexed Tipper as a male and said that he is just barely 6 weeks old.
When we got home and I released Tipper back into his home surroundings of my garage, he took off like a shot to the deepest caverns underneath all the stored furniture to where he was born.
I feared he would never forgive me for his capture.
Since I have been too absorbed with my new duties as Cat Concierge to do very much that is quilty, I will simply show you a block that I was working on a year ago that remains a UFO. Perhaps I can find the pieces and work on it some more, LOL!
They are pink and brown Civil War selections that are worked with plain unbleached muslin into Half Square Triangles.
Don't you just love pinwheel blocks?
Happy sewing!

"I was probed by aliens!", exclaimed Tipper |

very nice block, love to see more of them...and happy your little charges are back home...better you than me...
What a pretty block! So happy for you that everyone has been reunited. They are so darn cute I just want to cuddle them.
I like your aging block. : )
So glad the babies all made it back home. What a blessing!
Yaaaaay!! I'm so happy they are safe & sound. Where could they have been off to? Who knows.......Very clever of you to use blue painters tape to mark 1/4". I've a new machine, no more 1/4" foot. I'll have to get some tape!....I admire your pinwheels, they always come out perfect.
Hooray for the kittens coming home safe! Who would have thought that such tiny kittens would head off for an adventure on their own and then days later find their way home again! Sometimes animals are just amazing :)
I'm so happy that they are back!!!!!!! You made my day!
Oh Happy Day! That IS the cheeriest news ever! Those little scamps!
I thought about those three missing kittens all night and this morning. I was HOPING that they would return and they did!
Sometimes being a Pollyanna can turn out just fine.
Hugs
The three little kittens, they lost their mittens,
And they began to cry,
"Oh, mother dear, we sadly fear,
That we have lost our mittens."
"What! Lost your mittens, you naughty kittens!
Then you shall have no pie."
"Meow, meow, meow."
"Then you shall have no pie."
The three little kittens, they found their mittens,
And they began to cry,
"Oh, mother dear, see here, see here,
For we have found our mittens."
"Put on your mittens, you silly kittens,
And you shall have some pie."
"Purr, purr, purr,
Oh, let us have some pie."
(There are two more verses, but they don't fit with Spooky teaching her kittens how to eat "pie.")
Gooooood! Thank you for that post! From Canberra deck
