Today was lovely with cool dry air and mild breezes through the sunshine at Gilmanton Old Home Day.
Husband Wonderful, my Felix, sat with me at my crafter's fair booth all day.We were blessedly in the shade of the huge sugar maples in front of the Old Meeting House.
Sorry that the volunteer-taken photograph was blurred, but nothing could mar the fun we had!
We got to listen to the Bluegrass and Country band for most of the day.
And after that, there was a children's tug-of-war rope pull that was played in several rounds by varying age groups.
After a hearty dinner of Bean Hole beans cooked with local maple syrup and served with ham, there was a short parade of antique cars whose drivers honked their horns and waved as they passed by.
Felix and I truly enjoyed each other's company with no TV, phones, or radio to interrupt our conversation, and while we did not sell a big quilt, we had fun. We did sell enough sachets and potholders to make our table fees with more to spare so it was worth it.
In the foreground, you can see the giant plastic bag that holds the quilt that I was hand hemming all day. I got it finished! Ahh, tomorrow the label!
Stay calm and quilt on!

Your post took me back a few years - what a lovely day - everything works, no unpleasantries, etc. I could "feel" it here, while we are enjoying a blessed rain! 8-)))
gorgeous day and glad you sold enough to make it worth your while....can never tell
So glad you had such nice weather. You and Felix look quite content there under the tree.
Looks like a very fun day. I would love to sit in the shade and listen to bluegrass for a few hours!!
I'm glad you covered your booth costs with some to spare!
Looks like a fun way to spend the day. Glad you had good weather for it!
What fun! And isn't it great to see so many people you haven't seen in a while?
